GLOW IN THE DARK SCREENPRINT EXHIBITION
FRIDAY OCT 23rd / 7PM / @ GENERATOR HOSTEL, SMITHFIELD SQUARE

‘Join us this Friday Oct 23rd in The Generator Hostel from 7pm as we launch our latest screenprint spectacular – Dancing in the Moonlight in collaboration with the Bram Stoker Festival.

#DancingInTheMoonlight is a celebration of all that is weird and wonderful about Dublin by night, with a super limited run of screenprints illustrated by some of the city’s finest artists.

Featuring exclusive new artwork from Lauren O’ Neill, Aoife Dooley, Peter Donnelly, Donough O’Malley, Niall McCormick, Digital Beast, Colin McGinley, Brian Gallagher and Neil Dunne.  All lovingly hand-printed in sweet A2 designs on heavy-set 300gsm paper.

We’ve music on the night from DJ Flip, Lex Woo and Willo Healy and early birds will nab themselves a free Jameson cocktail!
Each screen print is lovingly done by hand in two colours, limited to just 40 editions, with a cheeky extra layer of glow-in-the-dark ink that only comes out at night. Grab yours for €40 before they’re all gone.

With tributes to Panti Bliss, the Nitelink, Dublin huns and the city skyline by night, we’ve tried to capture all that’s great about this crazy city of ours after dark.
The exhibition will be on show all weekend at the Generator but the print shop will close at 6pm each day. Make sure to drop by and check out all nine pieces of amazing affordable art before they become collectors’ items.’

A scribble of illustrators exhibition

After the success of the first show in Bristol, we are back but this time in Bath! Eleven of the west-country’s finest children’s illustrators will be showing their diverse range of techniques and skills, as well as hosting various family events, readings and workshops over two weekends at Walcot Chapel, Bath, during the Bath kid’s literature festival. Featuring big names from publishers including Walker Books, Bloomsbury Publishing UK, Macmillan Children’s Books, Nosy Crow, Penguin Books and many many more.

A line up not to be missed. Meet writers and illustrators and get your books signed!

Culture Vulture exhibition

Tonight I’ll be in a show in Belfast! Organised by the people at Mashmob, Culture Vultures is an illustration exhibition featuring an array of artists from all over the island of Ireland as part of CNX(Culture Night Week). There will be great art on display and to buy on the night, free booze, stacks of craic and a chance to mingle with fellow creatives. There will also be a live draw this time with one of my favourites, Stephen Maurice Graham, who will be painting a wall mural in the studio for the duration of the night.  I’ll have two pieces on show, along side work from people such as:

I’m pleased to say that I finally have an Etsy shop selling my limited edition screen prints!

Alongside the remaining few ‘Summer Ride’ prints for Artcrank, I also have the recent limited edition gig posters I did for Mudhoney and The Sonics.

I drew what you did last Summer

For the past while I’ve been very quiet here, but also very busy working on a few projects, and one of them is a personal project ‘I drew what you did last Summer’. Illustrating scenes from last summer’s scorcher, it originated as just a fun project for myself to do in between regular jobs. This is number six in the series, titled ‘Mr Whippy’ and can be seen on my Behance page along with the previous five. There is more to come, so please stay tuned to see the rest, and hope that we get a few days like this in August.

Communication Arts Award

 

It’s been a few weeks since I posted here, but what better way to get back on that horse with this little beauty I just received.  The Communication Arts illustration annual is just out this week, and everyone who was voted in received this ‘Award of excellence’. I haven’t got my hands on a copy yet to see my piece, ‘Pop-up Restaurant’, but hopefully I’ll see it in the flesh in the next few weeks. To get your hands on a copy, click here.
