The winds of Zonda

As Autumn reluctantly drags itself out of bed here in Europe, over in Argentina it’s the opposite with Spring being the reluctant riser. It is quite timely then that I just completed these two illustrations for Wine Republic magazine on the infamous ‘Zonda’ winds of San Juan.

These powerful winds have been shaping the landscape for thousands of years, and helped create the beautiful ‘Valle de Lunes’. This wind is incredibly hot, and incredibly strong. It also just so happens to help create perfect conditions for producing wine. A comforting thought as you are picking sand out of your glass of shiraz.
